You will be the commercial point of contact for both new and existing clients within your region. By listening carefully, analysing needs and presenting the right solutions, you create tangible value for clients while driving growth for the organisation. As a Business Development Manager, you combine commercial and strategic thinking with strong analytical skills. You identify market trends, recognise commercial opportunities and translate these into effective business development strategies that contribute to revenue growth and a stronger market position.
Your responsibilities
Generate, follow up on and develop leads in collaboration with the marketing and field marketing teams, while actively acquiring new clients within your assigned market.
Expand and strengthen existing client relationships, regional opportunities and product offerings.
Analyse client needs and business objectives and translate them into suitable logistics solutions.
Present compelling proposals that clearly demonstrate the commercial value for the client.
Build sustainable relationships with decision-makers and other key stakeholders.
Work closely with account management and the solutions team to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions.
Manage the full sales process, accurately maintain client information in the CRM system and turn market developments into commercial opportunities.

You have a strong commercial mindset and experience working with managers to develop short- and long-term objectives for the commercial organisation. You are willing to travel regularly within the Netherlands for client visits, industry events and business meetings. In addition, you have extensive experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Furthermore, you have:
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
At least seven years of relevant work experience, preferably within logistics and transportation.
A proven track record of achieving both organisational and personal sales targets through a results-driven approach.
Strong industry knowledge and the ability to understand and respond effectively to client needs.
Excellent command of English; additional language skills are an advantage.
A competitive gross monthly salary between €5,000 and €6,500, based on full-time employment.
A full-time position of 40 hours per week.
